A Poem by A. Kim Spradling
"

"To reach a port we must sail sometimes with the wind, and sometimes against it. But we must not drift or lie at anchor." ~ Oliver Wendell Holmes

Home Port

for Steve

Drifting through the sea,

And lost from all hope.

Lone sailing for so long

With no way to cope.

Trying to keep the faith

In this collapsed house of cards,

Can’t piece it together

Trust is only in shards.

When through the dark,

Came a first glint of light.

That seems to pierce

The darkest of night.

The blazing light is real,

And amazing to conceive.

Making the frayed ones whole

And now willing to believe.

Once lost asea forever,

The fire is warm and ignited.

Two souls at once combined.

Hearts are joined,

United

Yep, being alone without someone to share it with really stinks. You illustrate this very well.
I know I'm pretty lost when my wife is away.
Wonderful work.
