My Life as an Idiom!

My Life as an Idiom!

A Poem by A. Kim Spradling
"

It just is!!

"

No guts, no glory!

Isn’t that what they say?

I’m taking the bull by the horns!

And, making my stand today!

No!

I refuse to sit idly waiting,

How I handled this “thing” in the past.

I’m taking my last position,

Finally, the die has been cast!

Look!

I’m not missing the boat,

Because I’m afraid of the waves.

I will never know unless I try!

No more sitting alone in my caves.

So!

I am calling it a day now!

I have my plan in its place!

Tomorrow it begins in full!

I will finally win this last race!

This is genius. Who would have thought to do something like this. Idiums...don't ya just luv em.
I think if I were to write a poem I would have to title it, My Life As An Idiot.
Again...great job.

I like the energy and the drive of the words dear Belle Starr. I agree. No gut, no glory. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

Now this really made me smile! You managed to work a great many idioms into such a short poem, incredible. And of course, it all happens tomorrow. An action plan for procrastination, no less! Belle, it's marvellous - fizzy froth with buried barbs! Love it, as a friend of mine is fond of saying.

Nice uses of idioms here. They all made the poem a very interesting read. You also have your odd ways of malapropisms, despite being a teacher, which makes me laugh ("dye" is the ink used in tie-dye or to "dye your hair", but the "die" is the singular of "dice" and that's the object being "cast" in the idiom). But all in all, this is a fun read, and really ends on a note of encouragement (which made me wonder where "carpe diem" was in all this....). Much enjoyed! Well done! (the solitary words between stanzas gave the poem a nice touch).

Well it's always a pleasure to read them (when I come around to it).
I like this. At first, I misread the title and thought it said: "my life is an idiot" but idiom or idiot it's brilliant that you are not allowing it to make an example out of you. I really enjoyed this, thanks for sharing!
