The same routine,

Day by day.

Never relenting.

Can’t get away.

One foot in front

Of the other.

Each day begins,

Then another.

Working, trying,

The best you can do.

Tired, emotionless,

No time to renew.

Why would someone,

Filled with such hate,

Find no understanding

And only debate.

They should just stop  

Picking the ancient scab.

Old wounds bleed badly,

Due to their stab.

Moving right along.

There is only delay.

I’m trapped here,

And can’t get away.

Still working on this one. It is a hard tale to write.

Hey, I like it just the way it is. It's short punchy verse sounds like a rapping incantation of reanimated Edgar Allen Poe taking a stab outside his cage at social injustice. Or perhaps personal injustice? At any rate, it's a bonny write. It could be a series that leads to a battle cry of freedom...at least, for the protagonist sake I truly hope so.
