My Place in the SunA Poem by A. Kim SpradlingA poem for my mom. When the cold is all about me And the winter has begun, I search for a tropical place, My place in the sun.
The icy storms can’t touch me, All safe and warm inside. Grey clouds all around, Brightness it tries to hide.
Take me away from all this bluster, And the chilly Artic gloom, To a warm unclouded beach Where I can relax in the sun till noon.
Warm tropical breezes, Fresh salt scent in the air, Coarse sand at my feet, I long to be there.
So bring along your carefree heart The day is not yet done. Come join me now At my place in the sun. © 2017 A. Kim SpradlingReviews
