BLACK POWER!!!

BLACK POWER!!!

A Poem by Belle79

WE ARE BLACK and
WE ARE PROUD
SAY IT LOUD!!!
It's BLACK HISTORY
MONTH, and
WE STAND OUR GROUND,
WE REPRESENT OUR
HERITAGE ALL AROUND,
We STAND ON BUSINESS and
YOU CAN'T BRING US DOWN!!!
BLACK HISTORY MONTH IS
A MONTH TO COMMEMORATE,
THE PAST, PRESENT, AND
FUTURE FIGURES,
THAT WE
PROUDLY CELEBRATE,
FROM THE U.S.A.,
TO OUR AFRICAN ROOTS,
BLACK ACTIVISTS,
OF ALL KINDS JUST
TO NAME A FEW!!!
We have CIVIL RIGHTS ACTIVIST
SOJOURNER TRUTH,
Dr. MARTIN LUTHER KING JR, and
MAYA ANGELO,
ROSA PARKS, and MALCOM X,
ALICE COLEMAN and
FREDRICK DOUGLAS,
BESSIE COLEMAN, and
CLAUDETTE COLVIN,
SHIRLEY CHISHOLM, and
BOOKER T. WASHINGTON,
IDA B. WELLS and
HARRIET TUBMAN!!!
THERE ARE MANY
OF THEM THAT
HAVE PAVED THE WAY,
THEY ARE STILL BEING
LEARNED ABOUT
THIS VERY DAY!!!

Hi! I love your work, BLACK POWER!!! I talked to a kid from Ghana for ten years until he entered university. Together, we faced all sorts of milestones. He braved ants to talk to me because he had to climb a sand dune to get adequate reception at night. I saw his mother taking care of several families. We talked by video. He finally found his father who is the chief of a major tribe and now owns a milling store which he gave his son charge over! His name is Ransford Adomah and he needed a new cell phone but said the African government is so corrupt, he was afraid they might confiscate it. BUT we went through MANY MANY "safe" avenues to prevent and he did finally receive! He told me of many black heroes not known in America nor anywhere else and I realized we HAVE to FREE Africa from their corrupt system! The people gather by hundreds at a table outside just to charge their cell phones on certain days! I've lost all from Ransford during a hard reset and since he has graduated from university, I want him to live his life independently. I still have sketches of him I drew he laughed at but loved. If I was rich I would have adopted him but by our standards, I am poor as well. HAPPY BLACK HISTORY LIFE! It's not just a month or day or week!

Much love and respect to the freedom fighters that have come and gone. And the civil rights activists all over the world. To the visionaries - past, present and future. Great tribute Belle79.
