Peak Less Mountain

A poem about a woman who abandons her true love because she was afraid...

Time ticked away on its random course

Thoughts journey through mind from an infinite source.

 

Sky appears above in its magnificent blue

I am walking the earth in search of you.

 

Your smile won my beating heart

I lost myself from the very start.

 

The tears of the separation pour like a fountain

Getting back to where you are is like climbing a peak less mountain.

 

The dream of night floods me with your face

The one memory that I will not replace.

 

With your gentle and kind reserve

Your treated me better than I felt I could deserve.

 

So the parting came from my faithless bind

And I ran leaving you behind.

 

I love you still

And know with certainty that I always will.
