Sweet Whispers

Sweet Whispers

A Poem by Koda

Listen....what do you hear?
Do you feel it?

Do you hear the wind bristling, and the floorboards creaking.
Do you hear the panting and the harsh deep breathing.

Do you hear them?

Do you feel the cold wind make your skin hairs prick and stand on end?
Do you feel the breath on your neck making you freeze?

Do you feel them?

Do you see what I see?
Do you.....?

My eyes open, it's gone, not real was never there.
The sweat dripped from forehead and my back and arms feel like slime.

When are they going to stop these nightmares, but somewhere in the back in my head I know the truth.

It's not the nightmares I hide and am terrified of because they aren't nightmares just memories everyone says will go away soon.

And as the cold water touches my back and I wash all the sweat and slime off. I put a shirt on and make some tea.

And always tell myself, he is 6 feet under never again will he touch me, but I also know that these memories will never cease.
