Dreams.

Dreams.

A Poem by BellaStella

I found myself somewhere else. somewhere different, somewhere new. I gazed into the distance, and suddenly I saw my dreams. My dreams were right there in front of me, ready for the taking. I reached my hand out, to snatch them out of the distant air, to make them my personal possessions. I contemplated it would be simple, just the simple task of reaching out, and they will be mine. It was almost as if they were torturing me, mocking me, my dreams being right there in front of me but yet I could not posses them. Something was holding me back, was it fear? or was it something else? My heart was beating out of my chest, my breathing suddenly became heightened. So it was fear, fear that if I was to reach out, I would fall and miss my dreams, and tumble onto the harsh ground. And then right then and there, I contemplated something else, So what if I was to fall? I would pick myself up and try again, and again, and again, as many times as it would possibly take, until my dreams were finally mine, I would do whatever it takes. Then suddenly, I reached out, and I didn't fall, and I wasn't held back from fear. My dreams became mine, they shined and glistened in the light as I held them in the palm of my hands. I smiled knowing, my dreams were finally mine.
