Let Me Fall

Let Me Fall

A Poem by Closed Account
"

Ehhh... I don't like this but Imma post it anways I guess :/

"

I heard the news today.

Why was I the last to know,

That my own boyfriend was moving on?
You couldn’t tell me yourself.

No, I had to hear it from a friend during lunch,

Who’d heard it from almost every one else.

Why couldn’t you say it to my face?

That you didn’t love me anymore?

I could’ve gotten over it easier if you had,

But now I’m forced to wake up every morning,

And try not to fall apart all over again when I see you at school,

Or around town.

Do you know how that feels?

Of course you don’t,

Because you’re always the one breaking the hearts.

You’ve never experienced this pain before.

You’ve only inflicted it.

But why should I care anymore?

We’re over and you’ve moved on,

So why can’t I?

I’ll tell you why I can’t.

Because I really, truly loved you, and you just let me down.

You promised you’d always catch me,

But this time you just let me fall.

this made me think... "ouch! what a dick head". i can see where your coming from on this. most guys do tell us that they will "catch us when we fa;;", or theyll "never leave us, they love us to much to see us hurt" but do they see when they let us fall in love with them and then just drop us like were nothing that hurts us the most? not only that they arent man enough to tell us they go to one of our friends to tell us. to me thats just wrong and they need to understand WE ARE FRAGILE! this really showed that great job yet again!

heart ache is such sweet sorrow, especially when it comes to poetry,
because the reader can feel the emotions when the right words are used,
and a clear example of what i'm talking about can be found in your poem
that speaks of its lost and lonely, where tears dry up and hearts grow cold

and the world just isn't as blissful as it seems when love is in the picture.
i love the way you speak of every day life and situations and give them
a perfect theatrical effect due cause and in well rounded form.
this is an excellent poem full of scenes that depict overwhelming desire.

Simple, truthful, from the heart, loved it, don't change a thing (unless it's a few errors in there) other than that, don't change a thing.

wow. this was really good, especially that ending:

"You promised you'd always catch me,
but this time you just let me fall."

Shows perfectly what girls expirience in a break up, how they recall every moment, every promise, only to realise that he's broken it. I loved this. I really couldn't stop reading, it was THAT good! Thanks for sharing

It shows emotion...break ups can be hard...and guys can be jerks. Just learn from your mistakes. Its good...portrays a confused/broken heart. my mottos is "if its meant to be it'll happen." So its time for you to move on as well...no use waisting energy on someone who doesnt care. be strong =)
