I'm to Blame

Holding on to the past is so hard.
Every day is a challenge.
I've never hated my life as much as I do now.
I never meant for my life to go this way.
I always swore I wouldn't be like everyone else,
and that I'd never give in. But I gave up,
and now my life is ruined.
I made one mistake, and it all ended.
There's no turning back now. It's all over.
Everyone acts different around me now.
My mom won't listen.
my friends just laugh, and walk away. But I'm the only who knows what really happened.
My life was turned upside down,
and I'm to blame.

This is an emotion filled poem, which gets through all of your feelings and thoughts. I like this kind of poetry because it tells allot. My only suggestion would to add metaphors, similes, and the like to make your poem flow a bit more. That's just my personal view though, and I still think this poem is nice.
