A life worth living for

A life worth living for

A Poem by Bella-Marie

Like a gash to the heart
Like a punch in the stomach
Like a kick to the head

You tell me what I do wrong
You shove me away
You leave me at a loss for words

Is this
Horrific life I'm living
A life worth living for?

The knife's in my hand
Resting on my wrist
Should I push down harder?

Blood everywhere
Dizziness engulfing me
I wish I hadn't pushed down

Crying, screaming
Knowing death is certain
Slit my wrist again

The pain is unnoticable
It was already there
Death comes quicker

As I lie in the kitchen
A thought fills my mind
This life should have gone further

Death is not quick, not painless
My life was
A life worth living for

Very powerful. It made me feel like it was me in the poem

Poem was powerful. We must be careful not to push people into a bad corner. Your story was strong and scary. I like the ending. A dying person try to grasp for life. Usually we learn too late. A outstanding poem.

That was really good! I thought that maybe you should have had the third stanza the first stanza and them pushed the other two down, but it was great the way it was. Also, the flow within the stanzas was good, but there wasn't much flow overall, for the entire piece. But I loved it and I think you should write more like it!
