Don't Leave Me

Don't Leave Me

A Poem by Bella-Marie
"

Having to let go

"
I grab hold of her
My mother
My life

She looks at me
She doesn't love me
She simply sighs

"Get the child off."
Her voice is calm
She doesn't care

The foster-care worker
She gently un-hooks me
I cry

My mother delves
Into her handbag
Takes out lipstick

She pouts into a mirror
She applys the redness
She puts it away

She shakes her hair
Peroxide hair
And walks away

I tie back my
Dyed black hair
Leave my lips clean

I remember my mother
The real woman
Not the lady I thought she was

The one who left me
All alone at night
To "Have some fun".

She wouldn't care
If I cried
She said she needed a break

But when I learnt
How she spent the break
I felt sick

So now I'm... what?
Emo? No.
I'm rebellious, yes.

I just don't want to...
Want to...
Want to be...

I just don't want to be anything like her.

Very nice writing and very well written. I like the wording ~ very careful and not too much said.

I understand what your saying without writing. read between if you didn't get it. It IS sad and tender along with that as well. Love this, I know I say it a lot, but its true.
