Death in its most hideous form

Death in its most hideous form

A Story by Bella-Marie

It wasn't a normal day, Allan could see that. As soon as he walked into the classroom he realized everyone was quiet, serene. He sat at his tablegroup and waited for the bell to go.

As soon as it rung, his teacher entered the room and he saw she was crying. Allan looked around, but he was the only one in the class with a shocked look on his face.

"I am here only to say," began the teacher, "that our classmate Allan has died."

Allan was once more gobsmacked, and he looked around again - only to find no one was in the class.

He blinked - and white was all around him.

He gave a hard squeeze of his eyelids.

And then he opened them.

Allan was lying in a lumpy hospital bed, surrounded my cream walls and machines. He could feel wires all over his body, but an even worse feeling shook through his bones - the feeling of sickness. Pain was coursing through his viens, and he found it hard to breathe. In fact, it felt like the mask he was wearing was doing it for him. He could feel pads on his chest, on his heart, connected to wires to control his heart.

Then he heard his Mother come in through the door, and she had the same, tear-stained face as his teacher in his dream.

He tried to open his mouth, but he couldn't.

She didn't even look at him as she walked around to the side of the bed. Doctors waited at the foot of his bed, waited for something.

"I love you Allan," she said tearfully, and Allan heard the loud 'click' of a machine being turned off.

At that same moment, she looked at him, deep into his shocked eyes.

"S***T!" she screamed, and turned the machine back on.

But even as the mask forced air through his lungs, and elecricity flowed to his heart, he felt his strength leave him. He managed to lift a hand and gripped his mother's arm, staring at her pitifully.

She screamed with despiration, cried and yelled, shouted at the Doctor's to save her son. But the Doctor's stood at the end of the bed, paralyzed with shock.

Allan's mother slipped into bed next to him, holding his hand as his eyes fluttered closed.

"I love you baby," she sobbed, "I'll make sure those Mother-F****rs get what they deserve. I promise baby."

Alan wrenched his eyes open, and with his last ounce of strength whispered "I love you, Mum."

As he quietly slipped away, his Mother howled with pain, grief and anger, before emotions suffocated her. She hugged his warm body and sobbed until she was numb to the core.

"I love you too, Allan."
