In your Reflection

some thoughts I had for the man I hope to love

Can you look yourself in the eye and be proud of the man in your reflection?
To know you have lived and loved with passion?
In the moment when distraction and illusion are striped away,
can you sit with quite dignity and be proud of the man you are today?
When you struggle to find the courage will it be to me you turn or will you retreat in self pity?
Can you look yourself in the eye with the knowledge and courage you possess with the pride and strength to embrace your mistakes?
When you look in the mirror do you see a man or a boy?
