Every Time

As I sat there with tears in my eyes,

You came over to me and took my hand.

You made me realize

how to withstand.

With kisses so pure

And care that's ever so warm,

you are my only cure

that can always fix my silver storm

You give me a purpose to my name

Your hugs are so safe and inviting.

Without you I just wouldn't be the same.

I can't describe the love I have for you in writing. 

I'll never forget everything you done for me.

You smiled and told me you understood.

You've taught me how true love should be,

You've done all the things you said you would.

When I see you every time,

it always feels like the first time I met you.

You look to me with eyes so blue and fine

And you say, "I love you. I really do"

I just have to thank you for everything.

You've been my biggest supporter.

A month later, and I still feel like I'm dreaming.

You keep my heart in order.

This is a beautifully written poem - it brings to mind roses and lace and heart-shaped chocolates, yet still doesn't cross the line from pleasantly sweet to overly saccharine. Great work and good for you that you have so much love in your life :)
