Quarter Past Nightfall

Quarter Past Nightfall

A Story by Belen Loperfido

It was dim & foggy, the autumn leaves covered the path. But it didn't matter, it was too late anyway.
I started to increase my pace. It was getting hard to breathe.
I began to run, but the leaves made it difficult to see where the path led.
I could feel his presence haunting me with every tree I passed...
I could hear him breathing behind me.
I started running as fast as I could, it seemed I was going nowhere.
I tripped and fell to the ground.
It grabbed my leg.
I held onto the vines of the tree that was next to me.
My strength wasn't enough, it was stronger than me. I let go.
It dragged me through the woods.
It got foggier and foggier by the second.
I couldn't make out it's face, it was too misty.
There was something in the air.
I began to get hazy, until I couldn't resist anymore.
I woke up.
It was dark.
