If I Owned My SoulA Poem by xxxJxxxIF I OWNED MY SOUL By Beissan Hussein Al Zaghal I’d call for light if
I had a voice I’d make my decisions
if I had a choice I’d look for truth if
I had eye-sight I’d cry out loud if I
had a might I’d strain for life if
I had the strength I’d raise my hope to
an unimaginable length I’d dream of a world
outmost with serene I’d block all fears
turn the page clean If these words make
sense Then welcome to my
world Where reality is a
shock Where all heard is
harsh mock Where shouts are
chocked Where mere is hope Where there is no
trust Where all vile is
thrust Devoid of faith it is Devoid of passion Yet filled with
anguish Beware my friend I advice that you halt
for what you’re About to read is no
damn joke Read my lips for my
voice shouldn't be heard Horror, now, in your
eyes That you cannot disguise I must make sure you
make a meaning If not then please
come back You eyes need to see All the forms that
hate can take All the walls love
here cannot brake Surprised are you? I cannot but smile in
rue For I’d do many things
if I owned my soul I’d be my voice I’d lead my sight I’d make my dreams see
the light But, friend, I don’t. © 2013 xxxJxxx |
