Only in FloridaA Poem by Bee Oxford
comments suggested I should laugh
at the video on my instagram feed of an aligator crawling across a cul de sac along with the the words "only in florida" Her scaley paws on the pavement, impervious and the houses there all brand new a policeman watches and waits unsure of what to do I'd like to tell him: bring back the button bush, the soft seemed bulrush, the grasses, sedges and reeds Let her sink back into the swamp and breathe only in florida where she belongs to be.
