Before Sleep

Before Sleep

A Poem by BeeBev

Beauty resonates within her

Concentration on an angelic face

As she fondles keys with gentle grace

The moments before sleep

Deprives us of several hours to pass

Holding both in catatonic and dreamstate

Forever to last

Goodnight my sweet love

I will hold you in our dreams

Will you a carefree sleep

Until daylight rips apart the seams.

Thank you!
Hmm,interesting write. It kind of reads almost like a love story to be (of sorts)... I thought you chose your words well. I particularly like this line "I will hold you in our dreams" It is an unassuming line but I like it a lot. Could be way off but It seems as if this is a magical realism poem (somewhat) which makes a personification out of sleep, dreams and night-time as an agent which binds lovers in its "magic". Well done...I like it.

~~Silent lucidity~~the last line puts it into perspective so well. I picture a baby getting ready for sleep fondling plastic toy keys. "Deprives us of several hours to pass." This too points in the direction of a parent divided by wakefulness and sleep, depriving them of more time with their little one.

Well done.

Thank you for your observation and your opinion of the poems meaning.
Goodnight my sweet love

I will hold you in our dreams

Will you a carefree sleep "should this be wishing you a carefree sleep?"

Until daylight rips apart the seams.

Other than this line it flows beautiful
