Minute Of Fame

Minute Of Fame

A Poem by Miss Marie Riorden.
"

Was it worth it what I gave away? For five minutes of fame.

"

Paparazzi lights shining in my face

Cameras all around, fake smile appears

In the spot-light, that's the case

I'm running out of things to say, no more fears

I stand on stage, open my mouth to speak

You push me aside, my time is over

My eyes grow watery, my knees grow weak

I guess this wasn't my 4-leaf clover

I tried so long for just one day

To be happy with the fame

I wish I could have had something to say

But not me, I'm too tame

My minute was over, I was on TV

Standing there, and I didn't say anything

A taste of that life, a taste of someone forced free

Now all there's left to do is give it another fling

beautifully descriptive. How we all long for a fame that we probably wouldnt enjoy anyway.

This was a nice piece. It would be scary if an ordinary person was thrown into this life. I really enjoyed this. I know I would be scared. Thanks for sharing.
