Garden Of Oddities

Garden Of Oddities

A Poem by Miss Marie Riorden.
"

And mum told me I couldn't write.

"

Almost shining like a bolt of lightning,

She stands among blackened, broken roses

Wishing silently for a voice to sing

Before the garden finally closes

Drinking sweet nectar from flowers so sweet

Hoping for vitality and new life

Only wakened without love's bitter treat

A longing for no pain, or lovely strife

She walks across crystal glass so daintily

A garden of oddities, magical

Broken away, a gentle tragedy

Waiting for her posture to fail, to fall

Causing a gripping death, she is crying

Only to kiss a rose, the thorns' lying

What kind of mother doesn't support her child in their passion? Yeah, in her face, this is amazing! Well done!

I loved this poem! You did a good job. Why wouldn't your mother believe in your own abilities? This write was fantastic and descriptive. I can imagine the character. This was a great write. Thanks for sharing. :D
