![]() The Ice QueenA Poem by Miss Marie Riorden.![]() Lovely she sits upon that throne. Flames to burn her heart.![]() Flawless she sits upon her throne of misery Unspoken beauty traced by the curve of her hips Soundless screams echo off the walls, she isn't free Judging by the way she cries, a frown forced on lips Of reddened lies that tempted the pulls of the chain Wrapped around her wrists, and ankles to this throne Only the rubies that cascade warn anyone of her pain That ebbs slowly through her body, to the bone No emotion betrayed with the icy flawlessness of her skin Coated pale, icicles forming on her eyelashes Ivory at it's finest, flames tumbling from her head a sin That cannot be healed, the wounding gashes Cold and reserved, she dares not to speak In presence of another, whom sees her pained beauty A creature that's shown, so young and meek Who's not afraid of her, who she is to be Those crying rubies, joined by sapphires abundant She will not show weakness in the face of hers Chains of ice, burning slowly, constant She's the spawn of winter emotion that occurs Trapped forever, on a throne of ice Chains lacerating her wrists, her heart, her soul cold The forever coldness gripping her as a vice Her body paying the price of a love finally sold © 2011 Miss Marie Riorden.Author's Note
