They Do Not Love

They Do Not Love

A Poem by Miss Marie Riorden.
"

Oh there's nothing like a true love To go and make a fool of someone Just like before And right there for a minute I forgot that you don't love me anymore

"

They sit so far away from each other, but it seems there is no distance

Between their hearts that separated so long ago,  that swore they wouldn't stay as one

In a bar that exists somewhere in the middle of it, that joins them together if only for a minute

That makes them long for years gone by, and the reversing the mistakes they've done

She's staring at him with the obvious longing in her eyes, trying to draw him back into her lonesome heart

Remembering the years that have passed by quickly, forgetting about the one problem that should arise

Catching his eye with a sorrowful glance from them both, they weren't meant to stay together she didn't believe

Her heart catching the chill that she feels day by day almost, the cold in her heart blocks away all the horrible cries

He's back in a dream that ended so very long ago, he sees her there and it cannot be true

Her smile beckons to him as it once did all those years ago, but he remembers how it had ended

He turns away from the glance the sorrow threatening to overcome him, but in check he stays cold as he has been

She looks through him like as he was there he convinces himself, he couldn't stand there his heart not depending

The night wears on as they catch the glances of the past, and not long after they have to satisfy the need

The one that they've wanted since they saw each other there, to see each other once more before it's too late

The hands that sparked with lust once now meet with the same feeling, they both knew it wasn't over by any means

Eyes that won't meet now because they're scared of what's happening now, on thin ice their emotions skate

Not able to forget that night that split them, and now they're remembering the truth of it all

Why they shouldn't be together for any time ever again, why this love cannot open the heart's door

The lies they saw in each other's eyes denying the chance to live, making them come back to where they were

In a bar on the other side of the room their eyes not to meet again, they do not love each other anymore.

Sometimes it's good to remember why we loved but we must never forget why it ended, no harm in a little fantasizing but best not to open old wounds for but a moments pleasure. Deeply emotional poem with nice imagery. Keep em' coming
