An Endless StrifeA Poem by Miss Marie Riorden. This was such a good section of poetry when I wrote this. o_o
These voices don't kid me
They allow me to see What I don't want to believe And taking away my reprieve They grow louder with every insult And the tears on my cheeks are the result These cold and hateful things they say I only wish I was not so broken, a child's play Then I'd have a fighting chance My heart beats around in an unsteady dance It's torn, it's broken, scarred and bruised Crushed and smashed, it's only used Following you around like a marionette My strings have not been severed yet When the voices speak to me Never allowing this heart or mind to be free Trying to release me from this prison To the demented voices I listen Who tell me what to do or say How to act in their special way And the more about it I think and think They want to give me a poison I can drink Some medications to get me high And they keep telling their tempting lie And I believe them, day after day While my state of mind starts to decay I hear the whispers that they speak You are ugly, you are fat, a mutated freak You have no purpose, and you're not worth it I try not to give in, I try not to quit These voices will not cause me to bend For they are only a mind's pretend And each and every day I live my life I will listen to these words, an Endless strife © 2011 Miss Marie Riorden.Author's Note
