Picture Perfect

Picture Perfect

A Poem by Miss Marie Riorden.
"

Line to title, title to poem.

"

Smiles abundant, not a flaw in sight

Lined up perfectly, this pretty little family

Momma and daddy in the back

Brother and I in the front

We're the best family it's a fact

Daddy isn't hitting momma

And brother and I don't fight

There's no tears running down my face

And no sirens break the night

Each year another photograph taken for appearance

We're the picture perfect family

Nobody is out of line; eyes are shining with 'joy'

There's nothing wrong, or out of place

In order, girl, boy, girl, boy

There aren't any bruises on me

Or on momma and brother

Broken bones are hidden well

We 'care' for one another

We get older, the pictures grow better

Our 'smiles' shine true, you'd never see

Since we're the picture perfect family

No one ever expects anything wrong

When four turns to three

Yeah, we're perfect. Of course that's only a picture.
