He's Drowning.

He's Drowning.

A Poem by Miss Marie Riorden.
"

I'd rather not say.

"

He drowned,

Fell down into that abyss

Of never returning

Falling, helplessly falling

Not getting up

Struggling for air

And gasping to breath

Reaching for something

But finding nothing

Farther, farther, down he floats

To the bottom

Of the pool

Quickly sinking

No reprieves

No one is listening

He’s falling free

Darkened water

Surrounds his face

Air bubbles collide

With the surface

Bursting up, and hoping for escape

As the little boy

Manages to intake

A mouthful of water

The chlorine-burning toxin

Water that fills his lungs

Encloses around him

Suffocating, crushing

Lack of oxygen

He’s losing, he’s gone

Slowly fading from this life

Screaming one last plea

Only encased in bubbles

He’s drowning.

Very nice, the kind of poem that makes you feel more than think. Painfully raw, beautiful.

Is this, by any chance, about the boy that drown in the hot tub? If it's not, it's still well done. I really like each stanza you put, how each word fits together. This is very well done.
