You scream "No,
stop!"
He keeps on going and going
"We're gonna crash! It's not safe!"
You're afraid this is what the car will end up towing
You watch the lines start to blur
And he starts to go off the road a little more
You watch the trees as they get closer
You don't want to take this dangerous detour
He giggles and makes a joke
"Look how close the forest is, isn't it so pretty?"
"This isn't a joke, quit playing around!"
And then he begins into his little ditty
The car swerves close, I grab the wheel
"Let go of it fool! We're gonna crash!"
The tree has now too close for my liking
And all that's left to hear is the crunching smash
To see the crimson, blood of us both
The spider-webbed windshield breaking through
My scream is heard all in the air
And I know I won't live to see the hospital crew
"It's your entire fault, you stupid boy!"
I scream at him, knowing he was dead
"Now I'm going to die too! Why didn't you listen?"
My vision blurred by tears, mostly red
My head started to fail, blackening vision
"You aren't sorry for this, are you?"
I quietly say to the dumb boy beside me
And all that's left to figure is that it was true
