High School

High School

A Poem by Miss Marie Riorden.
"

Oh don't we all love it?

~*~

Teen flicks
Scene cliques
It's the same day in day out
Makes you want to shout
Four years of hell
Of useless crap teachers try to sell
The kids don't give a s**t
It's not like education is a hit
Sex , drugs , money are the main subject
Only do the nerds and loners object
To a side you see the groups
B*****s , jocks , and fruit loops
Emos , loners , nerds , and geeks
And the crazy kid that always eats leeks
The class clown , the preacher
And you can't forget the son of the teacher
Laughs and jokes , fights and b***h slaps
And then it's all ensnared in the homework traps
Teachers try to get your attention
When they can't , it's detention
Math , science , English , and history
All of these which seem a mystery
And then you add the extra curriculum
And maybe after school activities add some
And stuck in all this stupid drama and pain
Makes you want to throw your life down the drain
Watching the skinny girls and muscular guys
Wishing to be like them , failing at all tries
Climbing up the social ladder
That's all that seems to matter
Stupidity in its best works
Trying to stay away from all the dorks
Wanting to be with the quarterback of the football team
All the pointless things part of your "dream"
Failing your classes , struggling to pass
Along with all the bullies who like to harass
Depression , suicide , anorexia , bulimia , and other misfits
Pills , drugs , cigarettes , and alcohol for lifts
Or maybe you could use the razor blades cut
And it pulls your life down into a further rut
What's so good about these years
What puts you into all these stupid tears
The moment you walk down that aisle , wearing cap and gown
Hoping to leave this god-forsaken town
Saying goodbye to all those friends
Knowing that this is the ends
But everything like you think is not going to alter
And now you know your state of mind can falter
Because the truth is no matter how bad
High School is just the adult's new fad
