How Can The Crickets Continue To Chrip?

How Can The Crickets Continue To Chrip?

A Poem by Miss Marie Riorden.
"

An English assignment this time. But a real expirience too. . .

"

..:*:..

Seeing tears, eyes so blurred;

Can't see the ground, I'm blind.

Stumbling the lawn, my body is numb

How can the crickets continue to chirp?

*

It's dark outside, I barely notice,

The cold that's chilling my limbs.

It's still as a leaf, yet the night buzzes

How can the crickets continue to chirp?

*

"It's over, I"m sorry. I can't take it no more."

The words he'd spoken softly in my ear,

Soft, but harsh, I couldn't breathe

How can the crickets continue to chirp?

*

"Why? Just answer, this doesn't make sense."

My voice being choked by the pouring tears

My fingers slip, the phone drops to the grass

How can the crickets continue to chirp?

*

The stars so bright, the grass dewed with water

I wonder why he did this now

The hammock swings softly, sadly I wonder

How can the crickets continue to chirp?

..:*:..
