The Demon's Deceit

The Demon's Deceit

A Poem by Miss Marie Riorden.
"

Wrote this in class , OD abuse, suicidal thoughts . . That kinda stuff ya know ?

"

And these voice keep talking

Screaming in my head

Driving myself into insanity

The demons in my head being fed

You're stupid, you're useless

You can't go anywhere in life

You're weak, you're wrong

Here, take this sharp knife

And i'll fall to my knees

Screaming out, "SHUT UP!"

Clawing at my blood-soaked ears

Shut up, shut up, SHUT UP!

Give up, give in

You won't ever win

We're right, we tell the truth

Now continue on this sin

And now i'm on the floor

Crying out every tear in me

Holding in my hand this knife

These demons won't set me free

Keep on going, that's it, that's it!

Remember, you aren't worth a thing

Don't stop now! You're almost there!

And we'll continue to sing

And now the knife is to my wrist

My hesitation seems like just a doubt

They keep chanting, verse after verse

Now there's no time left to pout

That's right, keep with it

You won't hurt at all

We'll be ther to catch you

When you start to fall

And now i've realized the Demon's deceit

Not a moment too soon

I try to shut them out

Before my mind goes completely to ruin

No! Don't do that!

We're all here to be your friend!

Don't lock us out, we'll starve!

This isn't the end!

Yes, my friends, this IS the end!
