Like A Broken Watch

Like A Broken Watch

A Poem by Rebecca Josephina

It's funny how time seems to tease.
And it doesn't matter if I beg,
or how many times I say please.
I love him, I love him.
He loves me.
But the light is getting dim, and we're losing.
So I guess someday soon, we'll have to say goodbye.
That moving truck will pull up to your house,
And steal tears from my eyes.
I think the worst part is, that this was perfect.
Every kiss, every moment, every smile.
So I guess that we'll just have to put off our life for a while.
Even if we both move on, and fall for someone new.
While you're gone, I will never, ever, forget you.
In every boy's face, I will see you.
Every future kiss will be compared to ours.
I hate how people say,
Oh, you are young, you will find someone soon.
No. We have something special.
And I know that every time we say "I love you".
So goodbye for now, and I need you to know one thing.
Every where you go, from now until the day you die.
A piece of my heart will be with you.
And a piece of yours, will be with me too.
I love you more than a poet loves a rhyme.
And what we have is like, a broken watch
Although it may be exquisite,
It merely tells the wrong time.
What we have is lovely, but it came at the wrong time.

About
The most important thing on this entire planet to me is my family. I'm a simple person: I'd be perfectly content with iced tea, green grass, and the warm sun. I'm still wondering how to be happy, .. more..
