Like A Broken WatchA Poem by Rebecca JosephinaIt's funny how time seems to tease.
And it doesn't matter if I beg, or how many times I say please. I love him, I love him. He loves me. But the light is getting dim, and we're losing. So I guess someday soon, we'll have to say goodbye. That moving truck will pull up to your house, And steal tears from my eyes. I think the worst part is, that this was perfect. Every kiss, every moment, every smile. So I guess that we'll just have to put off our life for a while. Even if we both move on, and fall for someone new. While you're gone, I will never, ever, forget you. In every boy's face, I will see you. Every future kiss will be compared to ours. I hate how people say, Oh, you are young, you will find someone soon. No. We have something special. And I know that every time we say "I love you". So goodbye for now, and I need you to know one thing. Every where you go, from now until the day you die. A piece of my heart will be with you. And a piece of yours, will be with me too. I love you more than a poet loves a rhyme. And what we have is like, a broken watch Although it may be exquisite, It merely tells the wrong time. What we have is lovely, but it came at the wrong time. © 2011 Rebecca Josephina |
