An Addictive Kind of Love

An Addictive Kind of Love

A Poem by Rebecca Josephina

I see your twinkling eyes, that draw me in like an addiction.
"What if's" swim around me,
A constant reminder of what I have to pursue.
You and I together: It feels like a mission.
I feel like I must accomplish it or I will die.
I feel like I know you better than anyone,
yet we have barely spoken words.
You seems so different,
but also just the same.
Why must it be this hard to think of something else!
Something besides your intriguing laughter,
and your smile that lights up the streets.
I wonder if you know what you do to me when you tease me like you do.
Your smile says you know exactly what you do.
My life seems  like it is focused on the next time I see you.
Nothing else on my calendar matters besides you.
Nothing.
Other girls giggle and flirt with you.
Look at me, see me.
They are not worthy of you.
I am different.

About
The most important thing on this entire planet to me is my family. I'm a simple person: I'd be perfectly content with iced tea, green grass, and the warm sun. I'm still wondering how to be happy, .. more..
