Experiencing the LieA Poem by BeckyBoodlesA poem about the convincing illusion that is the world.I used to be so sure of myself-- I lit the candles, the incense I danced the dances I spoke the words.
I felt, I heard, I listened-- I gave thanks, worship I asked and prayed and loved... I believed.
A tarp has now been lifted from my eyes, the world now seen in a bigger light: an illusion too elaborate to believe, a pretentiousness too colorful to love! A divine lie too complicated to deny, a geometry so sacred you can't help but scream YES, it is the truth, it is reality, it COULDN'T be a dream! It CAN'T be an apparition! Give me back my lie! Let me have the passion you STOLE from me!
That feeling has settled over me again--- No seeing, no hearing, no feeling no thinking, no nothing... It's not unusual anymore, no, to feel an immensity too oppressive to embrace. The world is gone, away, filled with a void. It's all a painting, an eloquent denial of time, space, existence.
None of it is real. Not anymore.
