Death of a Loved OneA Story by Becky LawrenceIt's about my favorite pen dying in first block today... Sorry if it offends anyone... I tend to make people angry : (and yes, I do have a favorite pen.)
I loved you so much. You were always by my side. When I needed you most, you would come running to help me. Every time someone else failed me, you never let me down. I loved how you were always there when I needed to just get my thoughts out.
But now, you're gone. I lost you early this morning. Around nine, during Spanish 1. Why it had to happen this way, I don't know. You deserved a better ending than Spanish worksheets. You should have died while writing a grand story about amazing things. Sadly, life isn't always fair to us. Like the Enter Shikari song says, 'life is unkind at the best of times'. So I bid you farewell, my dear friend. I will grieve for you for days to come. You meant so much to me, I would practically die for you! Now, when I needed you most, you let me down. I won't hold it against you though. I'd rather remember our good times, not our bad. Wait, hold on. I have a text message from my dad. It's probably important. I'm sorry, love of my life, you just got replaced. My dad is coming home with new pens, special ones he went all over town to find. They write amazingly. I feel terrible that this is how I have to say goodbye, replacing you, but it's for the best. A writer cannot spend their time grieving for a lost pen, they must replace that pen and go on. I will forever remember you, dear friend! © 2011 Becky LawrenceAuthor's Note
