I'm only blonde sometimes.

I'm only blonde sometimes.

A Poem by Beccy

Friday night and
high heels tempt,
nails red as blood,
lip gloss outshines
the setting sun;
a practised look,
hair falling,
ingenue.

Sunday in the park,
we walk, he asks
and I explain the world.
He smiles, then nods,
a small hand curls so
softly into mine;
an artless look
untainted by the
march of time.
