I'm only blonde sometimes.

I'm only blonde sometimes.

A Poem by Beccy

Friday night and
high heels tempt,
nails red as blood,
lip gloss outshines
the setting sun;
a practised look,
hair falling,
ingenue.

Sunday in the park,
we walk, he asks
and I explain the world.
He smiles, then nods,
a small hand curls so
softly into mine;
an artless look
untainted by the
march of time.

this is about your son?

his small hand curled in yours, and his curiousness about life?

very cool...

ahhh the vast differences in the roles we play in life and the accessories we choose to adorn ourselves with and then the precious tender moment shared between those little angels.. this one has it all.. "untainted by the march of time"... such sweet, tender innocence... your short, concise, vivid lines paint such rich imagery and are powerful and moving.. another well written piece that reaches out and warms the heart..

The innocence of youth needs no facade to hide its enchanting appeal !

A well expressed poem on the platitudes and vagaries of life!

The power of a woman - she can be out on the prowl one night and out for a walk in the park another night.......it is so grand!!
I like the transition of roles!!

Lol, I love this.
Love being a woman cuz we can get away with so much and dress up whenever we want...
We mix it up depending on the occasion.

Thanks Lydia. I'd quite like to be a vamp, if even for a blink in time. -:)

The many facets of a woman....the vamp on Friday night with heels, lipstick, and hair just so and the mom walking in the park with her son on Sunday. Lovely. Lydi**
