Born out of time

Born out of time

A Poem by Beccy

We are all the product of fusion,
intentional or otherwise,
the choice of when such an
event occurs, always quite
Hobson in its option.

Thus, when retro designer
clothing catches your eye,
or from a psychedelic viewpoint
you see diamonds in the sky;
blame it on the boogie.

I have often felt like that (born in wrong time) watching old movies, or listening to some of my favorite music.. fashion really isn't my cup of tea, but the entertainment and lifestyle fascinate me.. lovely piece ma'am... I enjoyed it..

Gave me a needed chuckle.

Got me there Jacob. I love the sixties, especially the clothing and the Beatles, (my dad's favourite band of all time.)

this sounds like someone who should have been a child of the sixties but was born too late...

yet she still reflects the times and the fusion of feelings felt back then.

Whimsical. But more than that too. That first verse snapped me into place, and that last verse simply
unbuttoned me. One of those pieces where one may extrapolate a flurry of different imagery, each and every time you read.

Really enjoyed this poem, Beccy. Thank you for sharing this.

fusion rather than fashion, I think it's a clever notion and the poem is well done.

Thanks Lydia. I do recall the Jacksons song now you mention it, but it wasn't particularly in my mind when I wrote this last night. I suppose the line must have been lurking somewhere in the dark recesses of memory.

Oh, and I had the Beatles in mind, when I penned diamonds in the sky. Did Jimi Hendrix sing it as well. I've heard of him of course, but don't really know his music.

Singing the Jacksons song here....not sure if you even know it....

"Don't blame it on the sunshine
Don't blame it on the moonlight
Don't blame it on good times
Blame it on the boogie"

A cute write here....like that you mentioned Hobson in it. Of course, diamonds in the sky reminded me of Jimi Hendrix. Just really an engaging write. Lydi**
