Enchantment

Enchantment

A Poem by Beccy
"

On a early morning walk through the beautiful Gwydir forest in Wales.

"
Here, the scent of early morning clung,
the mist curled sleepy on the ground
and though the day had just begun
there was such beauty all around.

Straight before, a pathway lay,
of dappled light and woodland shade
and though my eyes were clouded still
I could not waste the chance away.

Thus, for a walk I took myself,
beneath the shadowed canopy;
traced by a pale and rising sun,
one moment found, then lost again.

And light my step, light as the dew
that sparkled in that lovely place,
as I set off along the way and
slipped through time without a trace.

This reminds me when I was a boy exploring the Cookson Hills in Eastern Oklahoma. Not so much of the the same scenery, but the magic that can be felt in between the lines. When my Granddad died many years ago, my Nan said that he was back in the woods he used to hunt and fish as a boy in southeastern Arkansas. That always stuck with me. If heaven is a place where you can relive those blessed moments of youth, absorbing the the faint sun inbetween the leaves for eternity, I would gladly take it. Beautiful work, Beccy! CD

There is a carefree feeling to your words....a serene aura as if the person walking becomes one with nature. The rhyming and rhythm of your words is flawless. Very well written. lydi**

i really like this, Beccy...it is like taking a walk early enough to really enjoy nature before it has been disturbed by others...
watching a new sunrise...breathtaking...and just for us.
