Easter eggs

Easter eggs

A Poem by Beccy

You would not think such simple things
would please so perfectly the child,
that lit with inner flame desires
to know all there is need to know.

Yet like a jewel in the hair,
the taste in equal amplitude adorns,
as lips and tongue and laughing eye
glow brighter than the blue of sky.

Good imagery and well written.

Thanks Dean. I wrote this after watching my son Charlie and his two cousins, Katie 9 and Olivia 12, during an Easter egg hunt in my parent's garden. The joy on their faces with each discover was a wonder to behold.

Beccy.

There is so much in your simplest writing! It pays to take time with it. I wonder how many do.

I love this, well not love it exactly but I hope you know what I mean. This would read well nestled comfortably amid the collective works of your own anthology. And then, should you ever care to commit it to a tapestry.. I would buy it without hesitation and stand it for all to see, ponder and enjoy seated within an old oak frame and allow it to become a family heirloom. AGT's N
