ToxicityA Poem by Rebecca Leigh
You tore me down,
And thoroughly broke me. By your silence, And the sharp words you spat, Gas lights blind me, And I am shriveled in a corner, Shrouded in the darkest depths Yet epiphany settles in and I look up, I spark jutts from the black, And I burst in flames, and rise from the ash stronger, wiser, And ready. You did break me but you are not the first. But you will be the last © 2020 Rebecca LeighFeatured Review
