Seeking securityA Poem by Rebecca Leigh
It starts at the pit of my stomach,
A dull ache, Creeps its way creating an anvil, Weighing me down. My soul dried out and transparent, The mirror of Dorian Gray. My face is a mask, Sadness peeks through my pupils, And my sarcasm drips truth. I am shredded. Two seperates, Sparring to the death. I try to inhale, Never receiving enough air My breathing is shallow and short The dark fills my shell, Holding me back, And under the waves of doubt © 2019 Rebecca LeighFeatured Review
