Pulling StarsA Poem by Rebecca Leigh
I'm grasping at my yearning,
My love so dear, Compassion withstands. Everyday I am learning, And am overwhelmed with fear, Of how time sifts like sand. Try to block the thought, And be happy and present, But inevitability beckons, Love is swift but lofty, I'm starting to resent, With each passing second, I am growing weary, Holding on too tight, My anxiety tripling. I often act leery, Just at her sight, Wasting and crippling. I love her, Yet time is fleeting And I'm afraid I'm pulling stars. © 2017 Rebecca LeighReviews
