Kryptonite

Kryptonite

A Poem by Rebecca Leigh

It is time again,

To close myself off,

and cut off my heart.

We could have been legends,

but you wrote me off,

I should have known from the start.

I let you walk all over me,

And I am NOT that girl!

I gave you myself blindly,

and ignored every sign.

My eyes are open and I finally see,

all the time I wasted, waiting on you,

makes me want to hurl.

You treated me so unkindly,

you were never going to be mine,

so why pretend and lead me on?

You spoke of kissing me and cuddling...

Friends do Not do that...

and you send me love songs on a daily,

why wouldn't I think we could be a couple?!

You are a cold heart killer,

and I am through,

with your stupid songs,

the sweet nothings you say,

I am done with you.

Thank you for reading
Good riddance to him! He wrote you off so you are quite right to be done with him. I like the bold justice of your poem.

Thank you... it's about a girl... I am glad you enjoyed this poem
' a cold heart killer"
we can only take so much damage to our heart, and then we must cast off the one injuring us and start over...
