fire-burner

fire-burner

A Poem by Rebecca Leigh

You burn me down,
not realizing it Is strength I gain,
The scortching embers,
push me past my capabilities,
the sting and heat of the flame,
Motivates me more than ever before.
You may burn me,
go right ahead,
I will rise from the ashes and soot,
And champion like the phoenix.
the phoenix I am.
