ice princess (Working title)

A Poem by Rebecca Leigh

I destroyed the wall,
preserving my aortic clock,
open and exposed:

Scared of the fall,
of my life I take stock,
and all that has transposed.

thought there was a connection,
it was most likely imagined,
met with a lack of communication.

not a normal reaction,
this falsified attraction,
met with a hopeless proclamation.

my fortress now in rubble,
the ego peeks.
a sight within.
I try not to crumble,
detest feeling weak!

bitterness slithers in,
hardening once more
to be vulnerable no more.

It is a courageous act to break down any barrier we have in place and I sometimes wonder if it is better to take that chance than to not...beautifully woven with a power to the self...blessings...

Thank you for your encouragement.
Deep and strong thoughts in the poetry.
"my fortress now in rubble,
the ego peeks.
a sight within.
I try not to crumble,
detest feeling weak!"
Failing and fear of the fall. Leave us ready to crumble. I could feel the struggle in the words. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

I destroyed the wall, 'cause I'm not that tall. Lol... By the way nice creation...

Thank you for the read
the more we are hurt, the stronger we build the walls....and once the walls are beaten down with treachery to our hope...we build them again, from the rubble we rise...
and we harden.
