Holding Me BackA Poem by Rebecca LeighFor anyone who lost their way and desperately cling to their past dreams.
Fearless,
I used to be fearless, My ambition surmounting, But over the years something has changed, Something has died, I used to dream so far and wide, not caring of obstacles, Or thinking of the outcome of others, I was kindly cutthroat, Fast forward six years, Past the relationship that was so wrong, My mind was wrenched, my heart altered. Past the choices I made, Which threw me so off course, My path was nowhere in sight. Instead I tried to pave a different one, and fell very short, Limited my own self, Just to avoid taking risks, and living with the fall out. I used to dream, Not an ember remains of the fire that used to be. I crave that passion, That zeal I once possessed. I'm far too young, to feel so defeated. © 2014 Rebecca LeighAuthor's Note
