A rainy day

A rainy day

A Poem by Salar Majak
"

this is something i wrote when i was 8 years old :P

"
I wonder why
the sun wouldn't come out today.

is it something i did?
did i make her angry yesterday?

did the moon break her heart?
did her threaten to go away?

or did the clouds imprison her
to keep her from stopping the rain..

My football is waiting
dying to go out and play

but mom said: ''No''
you'll catch a cold then in bed lay

i looked at the sun
and to God begged and prayed

that tomorrow the sun will shine
and drive the night away

then went to my room
and to have fun i tried to find a way

so i wrote a sad poem
about this rainy day.

Author's Note

Salar Majak
this is something i wrote when i was eight, i found it the other day in a toy box i used to keep, i added somethings to it but didn't want to break the innocence of an eight years old memory, so don't judge the weak phrases
enjoy.

This was adorably, sweet, Aurora!! Doesn't seem like much separates the world's children, but the borders and governments that keep them as so..... I wrote a poem when I was 11 and looking back on it, I read what sounded very very serious in text. What ELSE I remember is, that the days that I wrote it... I was happy, still playing with He-Man dolls, pouring my KoolAid, and burping the alphabet, too. lol I feel like I miss you so much when I read you in ANY poem, and I have never even had the luxury of being able to accompany your view in front of you. "did the moon break her heart?" ....that was gorgeous or seen as someone who would have been carrying the age of 10 to see such things so intentionally, and with a humble heart to remove all that chaos that adults and anger disguise in the later years!! Beautiful, Aurora!! *Big Hugzz* I hate that little rating thing at the bottom. I would never rate anything below a 100 for you... wouldn't make sense to me at all!! One of my purest joys in reading poetry that steals away with me in ANY mood and connects with me, always. : )

thanks! i'm glad you like it
I'm waiting for the warm days to come. I have two four year old grandsons who need to run and play too. I like the hope and the sad ending to the excellent poem.
