the last minute

the last minute

A Poem by Salar Majak
"

it's about what you feel when people bring you down

"

Empty eyes, looking right through me

every hidden secret to unfold.

"there is nothing left of you''

they whisper in my head

'give yourself to immortal sleep,

live the last seconds

say the last goodbye''

Now the scars are open wide

blood swallows every land

drowning within my own pain

i struggle just to stay around

but their icy hands chain me tight

they all keep pulling, pulling me down

both the angels and the devils

no one stayed to save me now

thus i shout with all my might

i'm not done of being alive

to see the sun for one more moment

the graceful rays across the sky

to feel the warmth on my cold skin

and with my eyes behold the light

both the angels and the devils

stand and watch me reach the ground

laying lifeless in the bottom

as the world dissolves to ash.

Author's Note

Salar Majak
when the words keep bringing you down, just look up, because only the ripe tree gets thrown with rocks.

I come from a bloody land with its own civil war too. I dreamed of a land where we all sleep in peace and harmony without hate or intolerance towards each other where the Eagles fly to their summits and the fish swim to their destiny... Amoving peace since I lived in Lebanon's civil war and felt the pain and suffering of all ...:)

This is so beautiful and dramatic! The weight of the words draw me in, the same way they pull down. Excellent, Sal! :D
