destined to lose

destined to lose

A Poem by Salar Majak

Please listen as you read

could it be that death is waiting..
by the door?

to unlock my tangled heart
and receive my troubled soul?

Am i ever to see that light?

or would i be thrown
into the darkest abyss of all.

don't get me wrong....
my wish isn't to die!

It's just the path we've all chosen
something we cannot control.

we're all going there someday
so why bother let it take so long?

But still we stay...
hanging by a thread
to the life we so firmly hold
so scared to lose the fight
though we know
destined to lose
we are after all......

I think the music threw me off, but I don't know. I felt like my chest was crying and I wanted t dance with you so badly.... so badly!! The music is STILL playing and I find myself still wishing these things that I do not own; my feelings, my thoughts on poetry and your beautiful page, and why I write... What a beautiful touch, my Aurora has when it seems that so easily you tempt the very thought of what births our dreams and simple tasks to avert them for selfish reasons. One should think that by listening to you in poem, that we ALL feel Loved, and are transported to walls with no borders, and borders where there are no rules to apply to all. I get to drift in these places with you, when reading you, and I find you to be of a most ageless and romantic heart, far beyond your years on Earth!! This world cannot be that cruel that I am not able to meet you in the latter years of my life. It CAN'T be that cruel to meet a poetess I LOVE in poem past the very words she performs across her pages... The music still plays and I am with you in this poetic dance, and selfishly wish it not to end..... Forgive me, Aurora. : ) So precious are the few that we come to know, that hopefully in this life on monsters and angels... ones will peek and gather our interests to hold and keep us in their forever if we are to be so lucky!! Can I be such a person to be allowed to know Aurora in her future?!! : ) Beautiful poem.... my goodness. I had freakin' tears in my eyes and I didn't DARE wipe them because you put them there. They were yours....

Aspects of institutions

Although individual, formal organizations, commonly identified as "institutions," may be deliberately and intentionally created by people, the development and functioning of institutions in society in general may be regarded as an instance of emergence; that is, institutions arise, develop and function in a pattern of social self-organization, which goes beyond the conscious intentions of the individual humans involved.
As mechanisms of social interaction, institutions are manifest in both formal organizations, such as the U.S. Congress, or the Roman Catholic Church, and, also, in informal social order and organization, reflecting human psychology, culture, habits and customs, and encompassing subjective experience of meaningful enactments. Most important institutions, considered abstractly, have both objective and subjective aspects: examples include money and marriage. The institution of money encompasses many formal organizations, including banks and government treasury departments and stock exchanges, which may be termed, "institutions," as well as subjective experiences, which guide people in their pursuit of personal well-being. Powerful institutions are able to imbue a paper currency with certain value, and to induce millions into cooperative production and trade in pursuit of economic ends abstractly denominated in that currency's units.[citation needed] The subjective experience of money is so pervasive and persuasive that economists talk of the "money illusion" and try to disabuse their students of it, in preparation for learning economic analysis.[citation needed]

Very interesting thoughts. I read it both with and without the music, and I actually think the words carry themself. I really really like this poem, because it asks the question of how to die, eventually reaching the inevitable question of how to live.
