Toll of the angels

Toll of the angels

A Poem by Salar Majak

Lying all pile over pile,

Lying there, left behind.

No one got closer, not one tried,

Till a little girl ran and cried,

Screaming with all her might:

"No……….Daddy………Why"

"What wrong have I done my God!

I swear I didn't mean,

I'll give back that pretty doll I stole

I'll never ever be mean!

But please give me my daddy back

Please don't take him away!

He's all I want,

He's all I have!

Nothing will feel the same."

Tears in other men's eyes

Were burning up their souls,

One of them hugged the girl and cried:

''I swear there'll be no more''

She broke out, held her daddy's hand

And pulled him from the pile,

Then stood to watch the others fall

With panic in her eyes

Between the dead, there hid a bomb

Quietly waiting it lied

And all the people ran away,

But the little girl just smiled

Closing her eyes, she sat by him

By her dead father's side

She heard no more

She felt no pain

And away now they both fly.

mm....this is a good one. while i don't know the whole context, i think it does justice because it leaves the reader with sadness but also peace. the mix is an interesting one, almost a paradox, but that is also the sign of good writing. great work! im glad you shared this with me.

Aurora. your empathy for others is filled true understanding and fear for your own situation. Writing these poems and chapters will help you and others keep their hearts, souls and minds together.
